There are two flashbacks. The first, 5:9 - 6, shows Fu Manchu "adopting" Midnight, and training him to spar with Shang-Chi. Shang-Chi is approximately 4 at the beginning of the flashback, and seven by the time it ends.

The second flashback (10:1), occurs as Shang-Chi is being summoned by his father for the London mission.
