Avenging Spider-Man 15.1 Octopus flashback

In this story Octavius as the Superior Spider-Man invades one of his own underwater lab and triggers a recording of himself warning against intruders. In this video an overweight Octopus appears in his classic green/orange costume.

The green/orange costume debuted in ASM 32 and lasted until ASM 297. It alternated with the smock in the mid-80s. In SOLOA 17 he's back to the smock of his earliest appearances then a white suit in M/CP 50. The white suit becomes his regular appearance until his death in the mid-1990s.

The underwater lab gets flooded in ASM 32 and M/GN:ASMPL. Following the flooding in ASM 32, Octopus lives in different places, the Parkers' home, a mansion, the streets, etc. There is no indication the lab is operational.

The time when Octopus is the most overweight is after his psychiatric treatment in ASM 296. He evades capture in ASM 297. So since the underwater lab is operational in MGN:ASMPL, it must have been restored around that time.

M/GN:ASMPL (47:2 - 47:4)-FB is not a flashback. Octopus is wearing his armor in his underwater lab. So the video of the wedding he is watching is not live and indeed the attack he's talking about takes place right after. The narrative captions place the panels in the present, "It was my wedding day. Who could threaten me now?"
