Marvels Project 1 and Marvel Comics 1

Post by Leoparis »

In the Android Human Torch listing we have two lines from Marvels Project 1.

M/PROJECT 1-FB argument with Bradley (=INV2 3-FB) Torch not seen
{M/C 1 (1:1 - 1:6)} "Gentlemen of the press, I called you to my laboratory"
MARVELS 1 (3 - 5) ignites, "G-good lord! It-- moved--?"
SAGAHT 1 (3)-FB "G-good lord! It's moving!"
M/C 1 (1:7 - 1:8) "destroy that man" "perhaps the power of the press will help change your mind"
SAGAHT 1 (4:5 - 4:6)-FB "present international crisis" (Bohemia-Moravia on March 15, 1939?)
M/PROJECT 1 (14) reaction to encasement proposal, should be after M/C 1 (3:3)
M/C 1 (2 - 3) Scientists' Guild propose encasement, entombed in concrete

The flashback (12:3 & 12:4) is taken from INV2 3-FB. As told in both narrations it takes place "before the unveiling," "I stormed out just as the press arrived." Human Torch is not seen in M/PROJECT 1-FB and his viewpoint of the scene is given in INV2 3-FB. The line should be changed to the original fb INV2 3-FB.

Pages 12 & 13 provide no new scene.

The only part of M/PROJECT that is new is page 14, Horton's reaction to the order to encase him in cement and apologising to Human Torch for it. That has to be after the Scientists' Guild visit since it's their suggestion.

M/C 1 (2 - 3:3) Scientists' Guild propose encasement > M/PROJECT 1 (page 14) reaction to proposal > M/C 1 (3:4 - 3:10) encasement in concrete

Note: adding the page to M/Project 1 would have been helpful as its absence made it very hard to understand what the line referred to. This is a continual problem when reviewing issues spanning a large period.
