I saw these tweets from Scott Edelman last night. I didn't see the news here, so I thought y'all should know.
Saddened to learn of the December death of George Olshevsky, who before there was an Internet for historians to consult, *was* our Internet. In 1974, he used his complete collection — which Marvel itself didn't have — to index everything for us. We'd have been lost without him. https://t.co/xfZRxf6Cep
Two years later, George began creating commercially available indexes broken down by character, first for Spider-Man, and then Conan, but it all began with that massive bug crusher of a computer printout without which we wouldn't have been able to keep track of our own history. https://t.co/y1CCu4xRFt
Unfortunately, since so much time has passed, I didn't immediately find an obituary that was still available. But what I did find gave dates of June 12, 1946 to December 12, 2021 and a location of San Diego.

I probably got hold of these indexes before you as I got eight of them, mostly from Album bookstore, at the time in rue Dante in the Latin quarter.
These started my lifelong interest in indexing. I started indexing non-Marvel series for my own pleasure. Later, with the advent of the Internet, my familiarity helped me whenever I joined indexing projects.
