Captain America & the Incredible Hulk (1981)

Captain America & the Incredible Hulk (1981)
By ?

APPEARANCES:
Captain America, American soldiers, Magneto, Hulk, guard

SYNOPSIS:
Captain America has been charged to oversee a missile test out in the southwestern desert. Suddenly, the missile veers off course. Cap investigates and discovers that Magneto has taken over the missile and is directing it toward Washington, D.C. Cap tries to stop Magneto, but he fails, especially after Magneto uses his powers to turn Cap’s shield against him. Meanwhile, Bruce Banner has been mistakenly detained in a cell on the base where the missile test is being conducted. He sees the missile change course and, overcome with worry, changes to the Hulk. He quickly breaks out of his cell and, when he sees Cap and Magneto fighting, grabs them both and throws them out of his way. He jumps after the missile and catches it in midair, detonating it where it won’t hurt anyone. Cap and Magneto use their skills and powers, respectively, to land without injury. They notice that the Hulk flung them to the middle of a salt flat where there is no metal, so Cap quickly overpowers Magneto and covers him with salt dust, which should inhibit Magneto’s powers long enough for authorities to transfer him to suitable confinement. As Magneto is taken away, Bruce Banner wakes up inside a crater, not remembering the details but somehow knowing that America is safe once more.

NOTE:
Is this consistent with 616 continuity? I don’t recall Magneto’s abilities being inhibited by salt dust before. Maybe it was a special, irradiated salt dust? Once again, I would appreciate placement suggestions.
