Although he is not clearly identified by name in SGTF 31, it ls pretty obvious that the general whom Happy Sam is meeting in London is General Eisenhower. First, he looks pretty close to the real-life Eisenhower. But mostly, my reasoning is based on the fact that in 1942, Eisenhower was appointed as Commanding General of the ETO based in London. Despite the fact that the time setting is a little premature, given that the Battle of Normandy actually took place in June 1944, Eisenhower was pretty much in charge of military operations in Europe at the time. So in this story's assumption that Operation Overlord was planned a little more than one year ahead, it's very likely that this general had the level of authority to reveal the details of that secret operation to Sawyer. This man can't just be some random general who just happens so call Happy Sam to London to talk about D-Day.
