A recording of Baron Strucker appears on a screen in XFOR 8-FB when the Wild Pack (later Six Pack) hit a trap, informing them they've set off a self-destruct sequence.
Obviously, it must be recorded during Strucker's Silver Age activities with HYDRA and before his "death" in ST 158, but given that AIM & HYDRA are at loggerheads, the scene as a whole probably takes place later and isn't particularly useful for placement of the recording date. So, anyone got any good ideas for placement of it?

The flashback says, "When was this? Ten years back, I think."
From 1991's standpoint this puts this story very early or even before the start of the Marvel age.
In Avengers 87, AIM was said to have been founded in 1961, so years before it appeared in Strange Tales (1966). A young T'Challa meets them so you can have AIM circa FF 1 and even earlier if you take that 1961 date at face value.
Since Strucker would not be concerned with revealing his status as Supreme Hydra to people who are going to die, you can place this anytime before he comes out in Strange Tales 156.
Looking at Strucker's chrono, it's actually easy. It's after X 161-FB (about fifteen years before 1985 present), itself after UTSM -1 (about 25 years before 1997 present). X 161-FB is in the wrong place. It was originally tied to Xavier's timeline: Korea in 1953, Suez Canal affair in 1956, Israel 1961. It cannot stay in 1961 in spite of the reference to Gabrielle Haller being in a Nazi concentration camp if that story is the time when David Haller was conceived. It has to move in relation to the sliding time scale.
The tensions between AIM and Hydra do not matter. AIM operates in secret here, through intermediaries. They might also have lied when claiming Hydra stole the device to hide the fact the two organizations are related at this point (e.g. Hydra ordered the device from AIM. AIM planned to spy on Hydra's technological advances, then secretly hired the Wild Pack--telling them a false story about Hydra stealing the device--to recover the results of their spying before Hydra found out they had been doubleplayed).
