Has anyone come across any reference to the ages of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver? Per the Handbooks, it was initially 1958, and then the High Evolutionary kept them in suspended animation for decades, but with the recent revelation that Magneto was NOT their father, things are up in the air again. In the recent Scarlet Witch #11, it was stated as "twenty-five years ago," which is obviously incorrect. In Mystic Arcana Scarlet With, she is shown as a young girl, perhaps 8-10, when she meets a coven. I can possibly unravel some details here, by cross referencing the histories of these characters. Maria Russoff was one of the coven, and she was the grandmother of Werewolf By Night. Sometime after this tale, she was cast out of her village and taken in by Romani, and 15 years after that was killed after meeting the Werewolf in Giant-Size Werewolf #3, 1975.
Also, their was one issue where Scarlet Witch had her birthday, but I cannot recall which one. I think perhaps Marvel Comics Presents, but I am uncertain. Does anyone happen to know? Thanks for all your help.

I have received several requests about how I determine the breakdown of years for my Marvel Timeline. Essentially, for almost every Modern Era Earth-616 comic published since FANTASTIC FOUR #1, 1961, I have been compiling a list of references to the passage of Marvel Time, under the assumption that approximately 10-15 years of Marvel Time have passed since then (and disregarding references to Real Time such as Gregorian years like 1961 AD). This includes references to events happening like "x years ago," or determining character birth years or ages at notable points during their lives. And by using the term "Modern Era" or "ME," I start with FANTASTIC FOUR #1 during 0 ME and move forward to the most recent issues at 15 ME (and I also have notes about events preceding this as "Before the Modern Era" or "BME").
Below is a shorthand version of the Modern Era based upon publication dates and estimates of the passages of Marvel Time. It is under constant development so the values may shift on occassion. If anyone happens to come across any additional references to submit regarding character ages or passages of time, I would be happy to receive them.

I was always under the impression that Wanda and Pietro were roughly the same age as the X-Men, who were 16-17 in 0-1 ME, near the age of Johnny Storm and Peter Parker.
Alex Summers, Scott's younger brother, graduates college in his first appearance. So Scott has to be older than 21-22. And Lorna is approximately the same age; so when did Magnus meet up with her birth mother? And is Lorna really a mutant if her only ability is magnetism, inherited from her father??

OHOTMU: Golden Age 2004 and later Handbooks established that both Magda and Miss America both gave birth in 1958, and then Bova gave the infant Wanda and Pietro to the High Evolutionary, who kept them in suspended animation for decades as babies, before giving them to the Maximoffs to raise. The recent retcon is that they were the Serbian-born children of Django Maximoff's sister, stolen alongside dozens of other children, and genetically modified as mutates rather than mutant by HE, returned to Django to raise, and not the children of Magneto. A lot will need to be cleared up, but regardless they are physically similar in ages to the original X-Men.
Still figuring out numerous dates and births. Olshevsky's X-Men Index #1 states Scott, Jean and Warren were all HS seniors when they debuted, but because his estimates are based upon a 1:2 year ratio, I tend to disregard some of his estimates unless supported by other sources (not disrespecting his research though - it was awesome). By my determination for the ages of the founding X-Men in 1 ME, Scott and Warren 21, Jean 20, Bobby 16, Hank 22. I am writing up an X-Men timeline I will post shortly to cite my sources, but its all open to interpretation of course. Scott was 21 (per X-Men Origins: Cyclops) in 1 ME, so Alex was 17 in 1 ME and 18 in 2 ME. Perhaps he was gifted in Geology and took an accelerated program, as Olshevsky theorized. Lorna was "nearly 20" per the OHOTMU #9 when she debuted in 2 ME, so she was born around 17 BME, thus concieved by Magnus and Suzanna in 18 BME. She was "barely three years old" (X-FACTOR #243) when her mother died and she was rescued by Magnus (now Magneto) and Mastermind in 14 BME. X-Men 10 (July 1965) mentions that the X-Men are graduate students, which seems to fit with Wolframbane's estimates. Junior member Bobby obviously being an exception, as he doesn't turn 18 until X-Men 32 (May 1967). We have X 32 listed immediately after XU 42/3, which is Jean Grey's birthday, but no age is given for her. Their birthdays must be close together, but not close enough that the X-Men combine them into one party. Although they may have just opted for it being a good reason to have two parties!

For my Timeline, I work on the idea that the four male members were recruited before FF #1, mainly because Beast, the final recruit, was shown at the X-Mansion in Summer, 0 ME, the same "day" (MARVEL 75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION #1, 2014) the FF launched in the Marvel-1. And thus, working backwards, Beast was recruited in "fall" (MARVEL SAGA #10, 1986) of 1 BME, Angel in "winter" (X-MEN #55/2, 1969) of 1 BME, and Iceman in "fall" (X-MEN #44/2, 1968) of 2 BME, and Cyclops in 3 BME, as he was recruited when he was "age 17," and the X-Men first battled Magneto when Cyclops was "age 21" (X-MEN ORIGINS: CYCLOPS #1, 2010) in 1 ME. This may not be fully compatible with the MCP however.

Hank Pym was a child genius, started inventing "by age three," encouraged by his grandmother Angela Pym, building more complex devices by "five," but Angela died when he was "seven," followed by "a fifteen-year" (AGE OF ULTRON #10A.I., 2013) period where his inventions were genius but not at all wondrous. According to her gravestone, Angela lived topically "1929-1988" (AGE OF ULTRON #10A.I., 2013), thus age 59 at her death. He eventually attended college, where "I majored in bio-chemistry, minored in cybernetics, and breezed through college" and "I received my doctorate while most of my old friends were still undergrads" (AVENGERS #227, 1983), so he probably recieved his doctorate between ages 18-22. He would eventually hold "nine graduate degrees" (OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE A TO Z #13, 2010). Eventually during his work, his "fellow workers" took him to a party where he fell in love with Maria Trovaya, marrying "within months," but she was abducted during their "honeymoon" in Hungary (AVENGERS #227, 1983). Some people have asked how does the BME/ME (Before Modern Era/Modern Era) convert to real dates. Because Marvel Time keeps sliding forward, attaching a real world date like 2020 or so to it is only good until the end of that specific year. Alternatively you can see events as happening "XX Years Ago." As the Marvel Time is always sliding forward, this is only workable for a few years before it is no longer viable, but for now I have noted below a conversion.

Your recent post containing Cassie Lang's timeline reminds me of the can of worms that is the chronology of Hulkling and Wiccan. To be teenagers in High School at the same time as Cassie they would also have to be born before 0ME. But for both of them this raises a problem.
Hulkling was conceived at the end of the Kree/Skrull War ~Avengers #94-97 in the middle of 2ME. If we assume a 9 month gestation he would be born early in 3ME. He was in High School in Young Av #1 in early 12ME which would be somewhere around his 9th birthday. I guess we solve this using the alien biology magic wand:- a shorter gestation and very rapid early development, hidden by his Skrull foster-mother moving around a lot.
For Wiccan (and his brother Speed) this is as even more serious problem. They are supposed to be reincarnations of Scarlet Witch's children who 'died' in Av West Coast #52 fairly early in 8ME. Assuming instant reincarnation and normal gestation we might be able to fit their birth at the end of 8ME. But this would make them only 3 in High School in early 12ME! To solve this I'd have to invoke time-travel. These magic-infested kids must be reincarnated many years before the end of the previous lives. (But who knows how reincarnation 'really' works anyway?)

The specific issue was Empyre: Aftermath Avengers #1, 2020, where Princess Anelle stated "At a wormhole in the heart of darkest Andromeda, I sent the child and his nanny through space, through time" to Earth. So Hulkling was moved to the past, But I am not yet certain of the aging process of Skrulls and Kree, and a hybrid would definitely complicate matters, but Hulkling was raised believing he was human and experienced the passage of time from his arrival in the past as an infant to adolescence believing he was human, so during that time perhaps approximately 14-18 years have passed (or perhaps not). So a birthdate of around 3 ME but biologically older.
For Wiccan and Speed, they were originally born in around 7 ME in Vision and the Scarlet Witch #12, 1986, and "died" around 8 ME in Avengers West Coast #52, 1989. But as of yet I am not yet certain the exact "how" of their reincarnation works. Were they reincarnated back in time to live new lives, was reality rewritten to accommodate their current existence? Neither is really an impossibility for their mother or Wiccan. Hopefully we will find out soon enough. I am currently looking for any reference to this.
The ages of younger characters are actually one of the cornerstones that I use to construct the core Modern Era timeline. For example, I was pleasantly surprised to find most (but not all) of Franklin Richards age references actually work. The same for Valeria Richards, Kitty Pryde, Power Pack, New Mutants, Generation X and even younger Spider-Man. Others are a bit rougher, such as Billy Connors, whose age references are very inconsistent.
On a related note, when Mephisto changed reality so Peter and Mary Jane were no longer married, did he alter time itself removing their marriage, or did he just "adjust" the current reality, adjusting memories of people and such. So for example, if current Peter were to travel back in time to a few years in the past, would he discover he and MJ were married at that time, or would he find they were not married. Similarly, when Miles Morales was relocated from Reality-1610 to Reality-616 by Molecule Man, did he retroactively rewrite the history of Earth-616 to accommodate the existence of Morales and his family, or was the current reality "adjusted" to allow people to believe Morales has always been there?

Thanks for the update on Hulkling. I totally missed the 'time' bit of Anelle's speech in Empyre: Aftermath Avengers.
I'd like to pick up on the last bit of wolframbane's last post, the part about Miles Morales being transferred to reality-616. Surely Molecule Man and Franklin Richards created a whole new 616-universe at the end of Secret Wars, and it was different from the original either by accident or design. For example Baron Strucker and the Fenris twins are alive in the new universe without explanation. Inserting Miles Morales was just an example known to be deliberate. So the past 616-existence of him and his family and friends are now as real as anyone else's. (Except of course that Miles himself remembers his Ultimate life.)
