I've rebuilt the central portion of this part of the chronology to better reflect the interactions of the Defenders, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four, based on the following post.. http://www.chronologyproject.com/phpbb2 ... =2&t=15539

According to Captain America: Marvels Snapshot, DD 133 (Daredevil vs. Mind-Wave), ASM 157-159 (Dr. Octopus kidnaps aunt May) and IM 86-87 (Iron Man vs. Blizzard) should take place between CA 193 and CA 200.
Or at least, between CA 193 (Madbomb outbreak in Manhattan) and the announcement of Captain America on TV that states that the Madbomb file is closed (that reprise some of the dialogues of CA 200)

At the moment the story of Iron Man is placed in the previous period, while the stories of Daredevil and Spider-Man are placed a little later.

Some time after CA 200 Captain America, Falcon and Iron Man are fighting the Wrecking Crew when they are interrupted by the protagonist's actions. I think there is something to consider regarding H: LBB, IF 11 and FF 168 and the possibility that Wrecking Crew is in Manhattan to better place that sequence, but I don't have those stories available at the moment.

At the moment the story of Iron Man is placed in the previous period, while the stories of Daredevil and Spider-Man are placed a little later.
CA 193-200 is the Madbomb story by Jack Kirby, who states in the narrative that it’s set in the Bicentennial year (1976). According to the cover (only) of CA 200, this culminates on “Bicentennial Day.” Earlier in the story, it is made clear that the “Big Daddy” Madbomb is set to explode at the start of the Bicentennial year, ie. Jan 1 1976. The winter setting is confirmed in CA 224, where Cap is pulled from the near freezing waters of New York.

The MCP has all of this occuring prior to MTIO 12 for Avengers personnel, who appear in the inventory issue CA 224, which is placed during the days-long gap within CA 198, and MTIO 14 is specifically set on Dec 31 1975.

I’ve separated out CA 193 as it specifically takes place within a month of Falcon’s trial in CA 191 (as stated in Marvels: Eye of the Camera 3), necessitating this to be placed earlier in the scheme. There’s a gap of unspecified duration between CA 193 & CA 194, during which time Cap and Falcon are being gradually exposed to greater intensities of the Madbomb effects by SHIELD, in order for them to develop a resistance.

It's possible that Bicentennial Day could be July 4, but that would require a large gap between CA 224, clearly set during the winter, and the final sequence of CA 198 (5 - 10) to CA 200. That would be possible for Cap, who doesn't appear again until CA's Bicentennial Wars, on July 4.

However, placing IM 86-87 after CA 193 is not possible without altering either CA or IM's established chronologies. IM 86-87 occurs prior to A 146 for Iron Man, but CA 193 occurs after A 146 for Cap.

I don't want to make any changes here until we've had a chance to discuss this a little more, probably after the Marvels Snapshots have been fully analyzed.

You have my analysis here.

I agree that the freezing waters in CA 224 point to winter but...

I've just reread CA 224 and I doubt it takes place during the Madbomb epic. For one thing the Madbomb War is over since it's referred to as the last war. The depiction of the Avengers is current, from 1978, not from 1975-76. General Argyle Fist refers to a Madbomb convoy but that's just the army moving dangerous material they captured in CA 200, not any indication that this is before CA 200. Cap mentions recent memory lapses. This refers to the storyline starting in CA 215 and a note directs the reader to recent issues so it was wrong to place the issue more than two years earlier. (The note from Olshevsky should have been ignored. It wasn't phrased as definitive anyway.)

This will free you from placing any part of the Madbomb epic in winter but the established chronologies will have to be reworked.

PS: If CA 224 is nearly contemporary with "recent issues," I'd rather place it before CA 222 or after CA 227...
Now, if Cap considers the Madbomb epic a "war," wouldn't Avengers 154-156, the Korvac saga in A 172-177 and the Thanos conflict in Avengers Annual 7 and MTIO Annual 2 be the latest "wars"?
Three possibilities: either a war is when the US military is involved, "last war" refers to the last one Ken Astor was involved in with Cap or the Madbomb epic indeed took place over several months, growing in stature over the shorter skirmishes mentioned.

I've also just reread CA 224, and i have to agree with you that this story appears to take place after the Madbomb War for the reasons you've stated, and does indeed appear to take place after CA 215, possibly during the large gap between CA 116 & CA 117. This would indeed free up the Madbomb War, allowing it to be placed where Captain America: Marvels Snapshot wants it to go.

CA 224 needs to move after ASM 169-170 due to Dr Faustus.

His appearance in ASM follows CA 192 and explains how he managed to survive his fall from the plane. He was believed dead before his appearance in ASM. At the end of the ASM story, he's captured and in prison as shown in CA 224.

This was yet another indication that CA 224 occurred around contemporary issues.

Before I start going through this section I've noticed that Marvel Chillers 3-7 is here and in Birth of the Uncanny X-Men. Also Captain Marvel 35-44 is here while Captain Marvel 34-35 is in Death of Gwen Stacy and Captain Marvel 36-44 is in Birth of the Uncanny X-Men.
