Stygyro and Benjamin Franklin

Post by Clive_Reston »

Forgive me if I'm opening a can of worms here...

There doesn't seem to be an entry for Stygyro, who appears in DS2 #17-19 and 27, and may or may not have been impersonating Benjamin Franklin when the latter slept with Clea in DS2 #18. An editorial note in DP5 3 says that it was really Ben.

On top of THAT, DS2 19 suggests that, since Ben was chosen as a member of the Continental Congress on May 5, 1775, it had to be Stygyro who was with Clea--but also suggests that the whole thing was a test by the Ancient One, so it might not have happened that way at all.

In any case, Franklin or Stygyro--probably the former--appears in WCA2 20, flirting with Clea and referring to Strange's triumph over Stygyro, presumably in DS2 18. (There's no mention of either of them in that issue's listing.) And that issue indicates that Strange and Clea's trip to the past brought them to July, 1776, not May, 1775.

BUT: in FF4 10, a Skrull is impersonating Ben Franklin during the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. So perhaps he had been replaced by a Skrull when he was involved with Clea, too?
