FLASHBACK:
Dr. Doom searches for the Inhumans (new). Talon meets Medusa (repeats GOTG 27). Talon worked as an Inhuman slave on the moon until Krugarr appeared and offered him an apprenticeship on Earth. Talon accepts but is soon let go because he has too much of an attitude problem (new).
SYNOPSIS:
The Guardians go to the moon. Loki sends Composite after them. As Composite fights the Guardians Starhawk fights Loki.
NOTE:
Composite is a “merged” version (through generations of breeding) of the Inhuman royal family (Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Karnak & Triton).
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #41 (October 1993)

SYNOPSIS:
As Starhawk fights Loki, the Guardians fight Composite and Loki’s Inhumans. Meanwhile, Mephisto searches for Malevolence and the Protégé. The fight brings the Guardians to Asgard where an older, fatter Thor faces off against Loki. Meanwhile, Starhawk meets Heimdall.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #42 (November 1993)

FLASHBACK:
Thor marries Sif, but he can’t bring himself to end his lifestyle of adventure and Sif ends up raising their son Woden alone. Woden becomes a real B-hole of a kid and Odin blames Thor for not being around to teach him values. Odin tells Thor to come home in the middle of an adventure, which really honks Thor off, but Thor does it anyway. Thor spends some time with his kid, teaching him how to throw hammers and stuff, and Woden straightens his attitude out. Unfortunately, Thor misses his adventures and becomes a fat and lazy drunk. When Sif gives Thor grief about it he gets ready to backhand her, but our gal Sif won’t take that crap! (translation: he was going to hit her, but she beat the crap out of him) Later, in a drunken stupor, Thor drops Mjolnir and finds he can’t lift it back up. He realizes he’s no longer worthy and has a fake Mjolnir made so he can feel better about himself. Mjolnir still lies in the spot where Thor dropped it… (new). Heimdall defeats a lava troll (also new).
SYNOPSIS:
Loki easily defeats Thor and retreats. The Guardians meet Sif, who tells them how Thor got out of shape. Mephisto watches from hell as the Guardians resume their fight with Loki’s Inhumans. Meanwhile, Starhawk and Heimdall are held captive by Remora, an emotion vampire (he steals memories and emotions and feeds them to other Remorans). Loki returns to the battle but is surprised to see Thor’s son Woden wielding Mjolnir.
NOTE:
Oh my, Dale Eaglesham still had the good stuff back in 1993, didn’t he?
All of this Thor business had to happen sometime after the flashback in GOTG 24, because Dargo Ktor had Mjolnir there. So (in an untold story) Thor loses Mjolnir, Dargo Ktor (in this reality) gets Mjolnir and becomes a new Thor, eventually stops using Mjolnir, Thor gets it back (still an untold story), and then all of this stuff happens (a told story, right here!). Or, this reality’s Dargo Ktor didn’t have Thor’s Mjolnir.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #43 (December 1993)

FLASHBACK:
Young Nikki watches while her parents are murdered by Badoon.
SYNOPSIS:
Woden beats the tar out of Loki while Sif and the Guardians battle Loki’s Inhumans. Meanwhile, Starhawk overwhelms Remora by feeding her negative emotions about the death of her children to him. Elsewhere, Malevolence calls out to her father for help and calms down when she senses his presence. Starhawk destroys the machinery Remora uses to take emotions and memories away, then travels to Asgard with Heimdall. Odin, Thor and Woden team up to defeat Loki and his Inhumans. Starhawk says goodbye to Heimdall and Vance is jealous (he and Aleta are engaged, remember?) Starhawk tells Vance to shut up and suddenly takes everyone into space despite Vance’s orders.
