FLASHBACK:
Long ago, an ancient king went looking for eternal life and struck a deal with the demon Aksha-Thushtra. Eternal youth was granted as long as the king continued to sacrifice his subjects, who all turned into zombies. When he ran out of subjects to sacrifice, the king turned into one as well.
SYNOPSIS:
In Fort Ghori, a drunken Conan is tossed out of a tavern. Meanwhile, politicians plot treachery. Conan wakes up when Tarsu Khan arrives in town; spotting an assassin Conan save the lord without thinking. Tarsu Khan hires Conan to be his bodyguard. That night after more political plotting, at a royal banquet held for the visiting Tarsu Khan, Conan wins a combat contest and impresses Zaida, Shamgar Shah’s daughter. When Conan dismisses her advances, Zaida has her servant killed to spite Conan. After a manufactured misunderstanding Tarsu Khan and Conan are imprisoned. Forced into an arena fight, Conan escapes with Zaida as his captive into a swmap. Conan evades a giant lizard; Shamgar Shah follows and is eaten by the lizard. After confronting some zombies, Conan and Zaira are captured and prepared to be sacrificed. Zaida is turned into a zombie, so Conan kills the ancient king; when he does the swamp vanishes. Conan wanders off.

NOTE:
Roy’s chronology places this after COB 275, specifically between SAVSCO 38 & SAVSCO 223.
