FLASHBACK:
Conan comes across a dying man who requests Conan bury him and all the gold he has will be Conan’s (see NOTE).
SYNOPSIS:
In Belverus, Conan is coming off a three-day bender. City soldiers (eventually) bring him to Prince Tarascus who wants to know where Conan got his Acheronian gold coins. After some “negotiations” Conan agrees to help Tarascus find Acheron’s temple, but Conan is Tarascus’ prisoner. They end up in the mountains where they’re all attacked by the Sons of Acheron. Tarascus agrees to work with Conan to survive the assault. They find the temple but there are warning to turn back everywhere; Tarascus ignores them. As they look through the tomb the Sons of Acheron attack again. During the attack Acheron leaves the Witch Queen’s corpse and possesses Tarascus’ lady, who starts murdering everyone she sees. Conan kills her, but Acheron in his newly grown body emerges (kind of like the aliens in ALIEN). Conan battles Acheron but quickly realizes everyone Acheron killed are spawning more Acherons. Conan collapses the temple

NOTE:
The flashback Conan tells is later admitted as a lie. Since we don’t really know how he got the gold I won’t bother placing it (even though it would happen a few days before the main story).

The journey from Belverus lasts two weeks, then the next day is the first day of summer. For those interested in such things.

Roy’s chronology places this after COB 231, specifically between SAVSCO 108/2 & SAVSCO 117.
