FCBD2018:ASM? (before DD 598)
DD 598-600? (about a month since DD 595 (1-5))
---
I have a completely different take on DD & The Defenders chronology..
DEF5 4 (1-10) [Diamondback receives a shipment of IGH; Ben Urich begins investigating]
DEF5 3 (1-16) [Diamondback meets with Black Cat; Punisher goes after Diamondback]
DEF5 3 (17-20) [Jess and Danny stake out Club Ultimate & get into a fight with Diamondback]

DD5 27 (8-20) [DD has been in the pit long enough to grow a beard]
DD5 28 (1-16) [DD & Blindspot escape the Beast]
DD5 28 (17-20) ["Some days later" DD & Blindspot leave China, arriving in NYC to find Wison Fisk has been voted in as Mayor]{early November}
DD 595-597 [Fisk begins his campaign against vigilantes; the Beast comes after Blindspot; Fisk is shot & hospitalized]
DD 598-600 [Over the past five nights, Muse has created five more murals; Fisk has been Mayor for about a month; the Defenders still don't know DD's identity; Black Cat arrives at Sarno’s, where she comments that she sees Diamondback there, a man who tried to kill her, and Hammerhead, a man who, last she checked, works for her]{early December}
DD 601-605 (1-17) [Matt takes over as Mayor and battles the Beast with the Defenders; the Order of the Dragon is introduced]
DD 605 (18-20) ["A week later" Wilson Fisk resumes his position as Mayor, but agrees to drop his campaign against the vigilantes]
BB 8, 9 (1-8) (Titania learns about Absorbing Man)
DEF5 8-9 [Titania is dealing with Crusher Creel's death; DD, now in red suit, reveals his identity to the Defenders; Black Cat helps take down Diamondback, and turns herself in, telling the Defenders her criminal days are over]
BB 9 (9-20), 10 (1-8) [Captain America (Steve) and Thor Odinson attend Crusher Creel's funeral]
INHS:JD (1-13)
BB 10 (9-10)
INHS:JD (14-26) ~ BB 10 (11-14)
INHS:JD (27-30)
BB 10 (15-20), 11-12 (Absorbing Man returns)
DEF5 10
A couple of notes concerning Black Cat's appearances.
Despicable Deadpool #297 - Having Black Cat and Diamondback in the same room together places this after Spider-Man 18, and before Defenders 5, or more likely after DD 600 (probably her first meeting with Diamondback since he shot her) and before Defenders 8.
Venom, Inc. saga should be placed before Defenders 8. Black Cat's place gets trashed. Eddie Brock suggests she give up crime, as the city needs heroes, planting the seed for her decision in Defenders 9.
Being bandaged again in Defenders 9 doesn't really present a problem. Felicia is an active young woman, and likely pulled her stitches, re-opening her wounds.
BB 8, 9 (1-8) (Titania learns about Absorbing Man)
DEF5 3 (10-20), 4-9 (Daredevil goes from Black suit to red suit) (no Black Cat until DEF5 10)
BB 9 (9-20), 10 (1-8) (Captain America (Steve) appears)

DD5 25 (1-15) [Matt appears before the Supreme Court (on a different case)]
DD5 25 (16-20) ["10 days later" DD puts away the black costume, and suits up in his old red costume; Wilson Fisk implements Plan C]
DD5 26 [DD heads to China]
DD5 27 (1-7) [DD is in the pit]
M/:LEG [Wilson Fisk pulls ahead in the Mayoral polls]
DD5 27 (8-20) [DD has been in the pit long enough to grow a beard]
DD5 28 (1-16) [DD & Blindspot escape the Beast]
DD5 28 (17-20) ["Some days later" DD & Blindspot leave China, arriving in NYC to find Wison Fisk has been voted in as Mayor]{early November}
DD 595-597 [Fisk begins his campaign against vigilantes; the Beast comes after Blindspot; Fisk is shot & hospitalized]
DD 598-600 [Over the past five nights, Muse has created five more murals; Fisk has been Mayor for about a month; the Defenders still don't know DD's identity; Black Cat arrives at Sarno’s, where she comments that she sees Diamondback there, a man who tried to kill her, and Hammerhead, a man who, last she checked, works for her]{early December}

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
The problem with that:
DEF5 6 (Black Cat hospitalized)
...
DD 595-605 (Black Cat appears)
...
DEF5 10 (Black Cat leaves hospital)
Daredevil's secret ID isn't mentioned in DD's book because it isn't relevant. The Defenders could know but it's not made clear. Black Cat being hospitalized is a plot point in DEF5.
Also, I hear a footnote says that FCBD2018:ASM says it's before DD 600, but couldn't it also be after DD 605? I'm taking it out for now.
How's this:

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
I can see you're not gonna go for this, and we may have to agree to disagree on this one, but i'll give it another shot..
DD is wearing the black costume in DEF5 thru to issue 7. He specifically hangs up the black costume in DD5 25 (16-20). Fisk implements Plan C - could this not be a decision to enter the Mayoral election? DD is in his red costume from DEF5 8-10, and he reveals his identity in DEF5 8. DD 600 has Black Cat meeting with the crime bosses, including Diamondback, whom she mentions tried to kill her. So doesn't this have to be after he shoots her in DEF5 5, but before she takes him down in DEF5 9, at which point she turns herself in, and gives up crime?
Also, we don't actually see Black Cat leave hospital in DEF5 9 - she just turns up at the fight to take down Diamondback, and is shown bandaged over her costume. There's no reason she couldn't have left hospital at some previous point. Felicia is an active young woman and likely pulled her stitches, re-opening her wounds. I've even done that myself. Had she just come out of hospital, wouldn't her bandages be beneath her costume? In DEF5 10 Black Cat is in police detention.
Even if the Defenders (may) know DD's identity in DD 598-605, it doesn't account for these points, and Black Cat wouldn't be the first character who slipped in and out of hospital when she shouldn't have - just ask Phoenix - anyone else remember X-Men 101? Also, didn't we have to do that with a Certain Character over in Amazing Spider-Man?

I think Fury is saying we don't HAVE TO, in this case.

Russ, maybe you could reply logically to my reasoning, and counter it if it's wrong, rather than pick on a single line to shout at me..

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
Why would you think I'm shouting? If you could hear me talking out loud as I type this, you'd be amazed at how soft-spoken I am. It's just one way of showing emphasis of certain words that are buried among a forest of other words, similar to ALL CAPS, or red face. Others use bold or italic, but phpBB software doesn't do a very good job of rendering those, when you want the text to stand out from others. Dozens of posts in this forum have used the same technique, and no one, to my knowledge, has ever interpreted it as shouting.
I picked out a single line rather than quote the entire post, because the rest of your post wasn't relevant to my point.
Sometimes you come across as a little thin-skinned, and take things personally. I can promise you I've never intended anything personally to anyone here. I'm just discussing what you've posted.
I thought I was responding logically to your reasoning--and never intended to counter that it was wrong--but I'll try again.
In the two examples you posted where we placed characters in appearances during hospital stays, we had no choice, as you said yourself, when you said we had to do it, over in Amazing Spider-Man. Since Fury is providing an alternate possibility, it is possible he is saying we don't have to, and therefore, the two examples you've provided don't apply here.
And, actually, there's a second reason why your first example doesn't apply here: we didn't do it. It had been previously established in an Official Marvel Index.
Yes, we CAN do it. No one is denying that. The question before us is, which is the better option? And please, before you reply, recognize that I haven't said anything about your conclusion; I'm only debating the steps that you've taken to reach your conclusion.
I can't promise you that things will improve, if we make changes;
I can promise you that they won't improve, if we don't.

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
Hey, we're all friends here!
I was out of town over the weekend but I'm back now (Chicagocon! We had a blast). After I get unpacked and settled in I plan to look over the Defenders and Daredevil comics again to see what I can see. Nothing's been decided yet!
I'd like everything to line up, of course, but if we have two conflicting clues we (unfortunately) sometimes have to ignore the weaker one.
(also, the Supporting Character Who Shall Not Be Named didn't make any appearances during the gap in their hospital stay, so it's not QUITE the same, but I see the point)
But first, I'm off to file away some newly acquired SAVAGE TALES, AMAZING ADVENTURES, DRACULA LIVES! and other miscellany.

You're probably right - i shall endeavour not to misinterpret you in future. Still going thru a growth process here. I fully accept the fault as my own misinterpretation of your post, however I may point out that using large fonts has been interpreted as shouting on many internet etiquette sites, like the one below for example, and as you're the administrator of the forum, i'm a little surprised you're not aware of it..

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
Eh, an entire sentence in all caps would be "shouting." I've always seen enlarging certain words for emphasis as a stylistic choice. But hey, to each their own and no harm done, right?
I've just realized that IIM3 11 is not in the CWII to SECEMP thread so I re-read it. In IIM3 11, Friday informs Mary Jane, Riri Williams and Tony's birth mother that Tony Stark is missing (to be continued in the search for Tony Stark!). The problem is, they find out he's missing in IM 593 in a completely different fashion. *sigh*
I'm going to say that Friday couldn't locate Tony in IIM3 11, which was shortly before the public event seen in IM 593. So while the ladies prepare for the public event Friday sends someone over to check on Tony's body. Then, during the event in IM 593 (and M/:LEG) they verify he's missing.
Meaning, IIM3 11 should go right before IM 593 starts.

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
ASM@ 42 happens in a day. The second story apparently happens on Spider-Man's birthday but I don't think that'll work out.
ASM 794 happens in a day, and Osborn acquires the Carnage symbiote.
ASM 795-FB happens in the same day as ASM 794 and Spider-Man and Mockingbird break up.
ASM 795 could be shortly after ASM 794, but Peter needs enough time to find a new apartment. So, a week or two? Osborn finally bonds with the Carnage symbiote. After DS 381. I hear that Peter is still staying at Bobbi’s place over in SM/DP, so I guess I’ll have to read some of that.
ASM 796 seems to be (but doesn’t have to be) shortly after ASM 795 (Osborn is getting used to the Carnage symbiote). Also, this is absolutely, 100%, no doubt about it after PPSSM2 6 (PPSSM2 6 and ASM 791 were published the same month). Also, Mary Jane mentions that “no one’s seen Tony Stark in months.” Does this mean his body’s been missing for months? And is this during IM 593? Also, I guess I need to get caught up on PPSSM.
ASM 797-800 happens pretty quickly and Mary Jane mentions that Tony Stark “in space with the Avengers” (I’m assuming this is a reference to No Surrender? Maybe? ASM 800 was published the month after A 690). So, Tony Stark’s back and we’re after IM 600. Spider-Miles appears. A footnote says this is before V4 1 (AASM and V4 1 were the same month). Also, ASM 796 was “the other day” but that could mean it was days or weeks ago. ASM 800 (75-80) is about a week after the main story. Looks like I’ll have to get caught up on Avengers.
ASM 801 is it’s own little thing and it’s fantastic.
FCBD2018:ASM has Peter getting a new apartment, this time with roommates (hi, Randy!). Kingpin appears and he’s NYC mayor. A footnote says this is before DD 601, but that’s to account for the Kingpin being hospitalized over in DD’s book. ASM5 1 and DD 605 were published the same month, and Kingpin resumed his new normal in DD 605. So, you know, I might ignore that footnote.
The second “story” is more of a timeline feature than a story; it lays out GOTG stories as a lead-in to INFINITY WARS.

There is no appearance for Tony Stark thru A 675-690 No Surrender.Col_Fury wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 4:56 pmASM 797-800 happens pretty quickly and Mary Jane mentions that Tony Stark “in space with the Avengers” (I’m assuming this is a reference to No Surrender? A couple of notes on the Chernayan coup timeline:
Punisher 218-228 occurs after IM 600, as well as Tales of Suspense 100-104 & Secret Warriors 6-12. Punisher, TOS, and Secret Warriors, all written by Matthew Rosenberg, are all set against the backdrop of the Chernayan coup.
I think the timeline for these issues goes something like this..
TOS 103 (1-5)-FB [Natasha wakes up to find herself in a Red Room facility]

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
Thanks!
SM/DP 23-25 happens pretty quickly. Spider-Man is still living at Mockingbird’s place and doesn’t have a job yet (so before ASM 790, maybe even before ASM 789). Also, SHIELD is gone so most likely after M/:LEG.
SM/DP 26 is in a possible future.
SM/DP 27 is at some point after SM/DP 25. At least 36 hours later, but more likely a few days or a week later.
SM/DP 28 is at some point after SM/DP 27. No appearances of Spider-Man and Deadpool together elsewhere between SM/DP 25 & 28. Mockingbird’s apartment appears, but it’s unclear if Spider-Man is still living there.
SM/DP 29 is in a possible future.
SM/DP 30-36 is probably a day or two after #28. Spider-Man mentions his relationship with Mockingbird is “complicated.” So after they break up in ASM 795-FB and before Peter moves out in ASM 795?
SM/DP 37 happens “weeks” after #36, and #23 was “months” ago. Spider-Man mentions that he and Mockingbird broke up. Ends on a cliffhanger of course, but we’re likely past ASM 800.

Re: SECRET EMPIRE to INFINITY WARS
PPSSM2 6 & PPSSM 297-307 is one big story with no breaks (time travel is involved, though).
SHIELD is unavailable (so either gone or in the process of folding up) and Black Widow’s predicament is mentioned, placing this after SECEMP. Theresa is still staying at Peter’s fancy place, so this is either shortly after SECEMP (before Peter had to liquidate all of his holdings and moved in with Mockingbird, so before ASM 789) or he found a way to keep that place off the books for her (I dunno about that option, but I think we’ll have to run with it). Sam Wilson is back to being the Falcon, so there’s that. Sam’s still wearing the Cap suit in M/:LEG “one last time” and again in A6 11 (A6 11 has to happen after ASM 790 because of the Baxter Building). Also, Daredevil appears in his red suit, but he keeps switching from the black suit to the red suit in his own book, so I don’t think that means anything.
While Spider-Man time travels in PPSSM 301-305 to around the time of ASM 24 “weeks” pass in the present day. During that time alien robots take over NYC, so we can’t really put other stories into this gap.
PPSSM 308 has Peter back at the Daily Bugle so there’s a pretty big gap between PPSSM 307-308.
PPSSM 300/2 is a Black Cat short while she’s still a crime boss. Kingpin is mentioned as being mayor, but it’s unclear if this is after the election or the inauguration.
PPSSM@2 1 is after PPSSM 307, and Spider-Man is single. So after ASM 795, then. Also, a footnote says this is after ASM 800, so there’s that. The second story could go anywhere in this period.

Deadpool’s book completely ignores the Spider-Man/Deadpool book and ends in a way that pretty much necessitates SM/DP to wrap up before DDP (even though SM/DP is still being published). Let’s see what kind of clues and gaps there are:
DP6 36 is shortly after SECEMP; his family is moving out of town and he’s a wanted fugitive. It’s unclear if this is before or after his scene in M/:LEG. Deadpool is contacted by Stryfe and starts hunting for Cable. DDP 287-291 is the Deadpool vs. Cable plot and it happens pretty quickly (also, this is likely before Cable’s series starts). DDP 291 ends with Bob (agent of Hydra) telling Deadpool where to find the evil Cosmic Cube duplicate of Steve Rogers, but he leaves that as a message on Deadpool’s phone. Who knows how long it took him to check his messages, so there can be a big break between DDP 291-292.
DDP 292 has Deadpool finally checking in with the evil Steve duplicate and leads in to next issue. In DDP 293 Deadpool has a helicarrier, so this could either be before SM/DP 23 (where he “already” has a helicarrier) or after (where he “still” has a helicarrier); neither series shows him actually GETTING a helicarrier. Rogue appears, who mentions she’s “neck deep in X-Men stuff.” Also, Captain America appears.
DDP 294 is fairly standalone, but Deadpool’s still working on his bucket list that he started in DDP 292. He could probably make appearances between DDP 293-294, but I don’t think any SM/DP issues could fit in there. Collector appears in DDP 294 (published after all his ANGOTG appearances).
DDP 295 has Deadpool finishing his Stryfe’s bucket list. Colossus and Kitty Pryde appear (same as X:G 21-22), as well as Captain America (who in theory has been looking for Deadpool since DDP 293). Leads directly into DDP 296. There can easily be a break between DDP 296-297.
DDP 297-300 is fairly continuous.
DDP 297 has the Black Cat still as a criminal (published the month after DEF5 10). DDP 298 has Daredevil in his red suit. DDP 300 has Sam back to being the Falcon and Mighty Thor appears.
In DDP 300 Deadpool wipes his memory of (basically) the Duggan run (and maybe even the Way run). Unless some future issue specifically mentions this, no issues of SM/DP after DDP 300 (or, if the current SM/DP plot wraps up and a new creative team comes in, then maybe).
So basically, there’s DP6 36 & DDP 287-291, a nice big break, DDP 292-296 (more or less), a regular break, then DDP 297-300.
DPV.OML 1-5 is fairly standalone. Deadpool mentions he's an "ex-Avenger," so we're likely after SECEMP. Published at the same time as DDP 287-295, SM/DP 22-28 & OML2 29-35.

ANGOTG 1-2, 4-8, 10-11 happens off in space and lead in to ANGOTG 12 which is absolutely, positively after SECEMP. Deadpool appears in ANGOTG 12 (same month as DDP 287-288) and Ant-Man joins the team. Leads in to GOTG 146-150 which all happen out in space. Adam Warlock returns.
INFINITY COUNTDOWN: ADAM WARLOCK was supposed to be GOTG 151, but it doesn’t continue directly from it.
