I think to be able to get this to work for all sides, we must consider this is not the same Selene and proceed from there. Tony was in California at this time working with Rhodey and the Erwins on the Circuits Maximus company. And yes, he could have come to the Club to get investors. But the problem is that Emma and Shaw describe Tony as "rich" and a "playboy". Those terms don't apply to Tony at this...
