EPIC ILLUSTRATED #3 (September 1980)

FLASHBACK:
Elric’s cousins Yyrkoon and Cymoril take control of the Dreaming City.
SYNOPSIS:
The Sea Lords chat while they wait for Elric to arrive; when he does, he tells them that he will help them attack the Dreaming City. However, he wants to go there himself first. He hides their fleet of ships in a dense fog, takes a nap, summons some Wind Elementals and sails away.

EPIC ILLUSTRATED #4 (December 1980)
2nd Story:

SYNOPSIS:
Pushed forward by Wind Elementals, Elric arrives at the Dreaming City. He sneaks into the palace and meets up with his pal Tanglebones. After killing a guard, Elric visits his sleeping sister Cymoril. His cousin Yyrkoon sends his guards after Elric, but he kills them and escapes. He tells Tanglebones to make sure his sister is safe when he returns in five days.

MARVEL GRAPHIC NOVEL #2 (July 1982)

SYNOPSIS:
After the events of EPICI 3 & 4/2, Elric leads the Sea Lords and their fleets to the Dreaming City and they attack. As the forces fight Elric meets up with Tanglebones; he’s been attacked and Cymoril has been taken. Elric leaves as Tanglebones dies. Elric enters a citadel and battles his cousin Yyrkoon, where the sound of their fighting wakes Cymoril. Yyrkoon kills Cymoril and Elric kills Yyrkoon. Elric leaves as the Dreaming City burns, but the fleet is attacked by the Dragon Masters on their flying dragons. Elric pushes his ship ahead and the rest of the fleet is killed by the Dragon Masters. Filled with grief, Elric marrons himself on an island.

As with M/GN:COISLES, the first chunk of this reprints EPICI 3 & 4/2, and the rest is new material. It’s not a second story, though, it just continues the story.

EPIC ILLUSTRATED #14 (October 1982)

FLASHBACK:
The Dead Gods’ book is thrown into the sun.
SYNOPSIS:
Elric is approached by a woman (Shaarilla) in a tavern, who has been looking for him for 20 days. They chat about the Dead Gods’ book, and he agrees to help her find it. As they travel they’re attacked by a giant mist; Elric defeats it and they continue on. They meet Moonglum and evade the undead Lords of Dharzi and their hunting dogs. They come to a cold lake, set sail and are attacked by a clakar; Elric kills it. They continue on and enter a citadel where they meet Orunlun, who warns them of entropy. They enter the chamber and find the book. When he opens it the 300-centuries-old book turns to dust. Oops.
