APPEARANCES:

SYNOPSIS:
After spending a day with his friend Sue, Peter Parker and Sue are at a 7-11 when the ground begins to shake. Pete ducks out and becomes Spider-Man only to see the Empire State Building being levitated into the air. Underneath the building, the Trapster unearths an Asgardian artifact, thinking to himself that once he gives it to the Enchantress she’ll love him and they’ll rule the Earth together. Spidey succeeds in using the Wizard’s anti-gravity disk to safely lower the building back to the ground, but fails to stop the Wizard from fleeing with the artifact. He gives it to the Enchantress, but she vanishes, revealing that she had lied about having any interest in him. Later, Captain America is talking to some kids at a 7-11 in Washington, D.C., when he notices the Trapster digging under the Washington Monument for another artifact. The Trapster throws a bomb toward the city, so Cap has to let the villain escape with the artifact in order to stop the bomb. The Trapster gives the Enchantress the artifact, but she vanishes again, also revealing that she’d lied to him as well. Over in San Francisco, Jessica Drew is in her office when the ground begins to shake. She changes to Spider-Woman and saves some people from falling masonry, dropping them off at a local 7-11 which is being used as an aid station. She tracks the vibrations in the ground to Alcatraz and there finds the Enchantress and the Rhino causing the shaking while they look for yet another artifact. A fight breaks out. Meanwhile, Bruce Banner has been staying in San Francisco and when he sees people threatened by more falling debris, he changes to the Hulk. Not liking the shaking city, he jumps out toward Alcatraz, thinking it may be more peaceful. He lands in the middle of the fight and immediately recognizes the Rhino as an enemy. The Enchantress, seeing that the Hulk is stronger and easier to fool than the Rhino, thanks the Hulk for rescuing her from the Rhino. The Hulk sees the artifact and picks it up, vanishing with the Enchantress back to her underground lair, thinking she is nice and peaceful. In her lair, the Enchantress asks the Hulk to put the artifacts together, revealing a crown, while she thinks to herself how the crown is an ancient Asgardian tool that makes the wearer the ruler of Midgard, and how Odin had long ago broken it into pieces and scattered them after placing a spell on them that would kill any Asgardian that touched them. Once a mortal reassembles the pieces and places the crown on an Asgardian, though, the spell would be canceled and the Asgardian would rule the world. Meanwhile, Cap put out a national all-points bulletin, and Spidey and Spider-Woman respond, meeting him at the 7-11 in Washington, D.C. They compare notes and Spidey reveals that he placed a spider tracer on the artifact the Wizard found, so they decide to follow the tracer. At the same time, the Wizard, Trapster, and Rhino have met and, all feeling furious at being duped by the Enchantress, decide to get revenge on her. The Wizard reveals he knows where her underground lair is and they head there. The villains and Cap’s team all arrive at the lair at the same time, just as the Hulk is about to place the crown on the Enchantress’s head. A big fight breaks out, and the Hulk helps the heroes, since they are fighting the Rhino. The heroes win and afterward the Hulk smashes the crown so that no one can have it again. The Enchantress is outraged and vanishes once again. The heroes return to the 7-11 in Washington, D.C. but then go their separate ways back to their home cities.
NOTE:
It’s not entirely clear whether or not Pete was on a date with Sue or not. That’s the impression I got, but it’s never actually stated. That should give some wiggle room for placing this story if it conflicts with him dating someone else at this time. Once again, placement suggestions would be welcome.
