SYNOPSIS:
The Angel is vacationing in Carlsburg when he learns the town is being harassed by vampires. He investigates and learns it’s actually a scientist experimenting with switching minds between humans and gorillas; his men are posing as vampires to snatch victims and keep the town away from the lab. Angel beats them up and destroys the machinery.

SYNOPSIS:
Gangsters are trying to drive up the price of gasoline, and despite no one listening to him when he tries to point it out, the Human Torch puts a stop to that nonsense.
NOTE:
There’s a great bit where the Torch lands in front of a gangster’s speeding car; as he stands in the street, the car melts around him as it tries to run him over, splitting the car in two. Neat!
3rd Story:

SYNOPSIS:
The Sub-Mariner’s still pissed that the Human Torch burned off his ankle wings, so he decides to go back to Atlantis while he heals. However, Emperor Thakorr’s angry that Namor didn’t teach the surface world a lesson and banishes Namor from Atlantis official business. Meanwhile, Luther Robinson puts together a war party to search for the Sub-Mariner. Later as Namor and Dorma swim around, they’re attacked by Robinson’s war party. After a big fight involving Atlantis’ Navy, the Sub-Mariner swears vengeance against his attackers.

Ghouls have been kidnapping woman so they can sacrifice them to lava. Angel frees the women, but when it appears he fell into lava, everyone gives up and leaves. He survived, though.

SYNOPSIS:
The Black Plague is tearing through the slums, so a doctor convinces the Human Torch to burn down all the buildings. The slumlord owner isn’t happy that his property is being destroyed, so he pays someone $50,000 to make sure the Torch fails. The police try to arrest the Torch (their fellow officer, remember) for arson, but he convinces them all you can’t just follow orders when they’re plainly stupid orders. They’re able to quarantine the plague and burn down the buildings. The slumlord dies from the plague. The Human Torch, acting on a tip, wonders who J.B. is (I guess we’ll find out next issue).
2nd Story:

A big game hunter has bought some land in the jungle and starts killing animals for fun. Ka-Zar isn’t happy about it and attacks, but is shot. The hunter captures Zar and plans to kill him. Bradley (a hunter for zoos and carnivals) arrives and offers to buy Zar; when he’s turned down he just steals the lion. Ka-Zar (tended to by an elephant and monkey), now healed, gets on the boat, planning to free Zar.

SYNOPSIS:
Angel continues to battle the ghouls, eventually finding himself in a hidden, underground city. He falls into a trap door and wakes up with a lady dressed in ancient Greek robes speaking Latin (apparently, Angel speaks fluent Latin). She says she’s been trapped for 4,000 years and if sunlight touches her she’ll die instantly. When they leave the room, that’s what happens. Angel uses some clothes she gave him to fly around and defeat the ghouls.
NOTE:
The lady says the fancy clothes she gave Angel once belonged to “Mercury” (she included the quotes). Was she talking about Hermes/Mercury, Makkari/Mercury, or someone else? Who knows?

SYNOPSIS:
The Human Torch tells Chief Wilson he’s going after J.B., whoever it is. Wilson says if he does he’ll get him reinstated on the police force. The Torch fin out J.B. is a woman (gasp!) and everything works out just great.

SYNOPSIS:
Princess Fen chides Namor for letting the Americans escape, convincing him the woman wold have made a good mate. Namor tracks them down, finding they’ve been picked up by a Nazi sub. He captured Lynne, who explains they were taking them back to civilization. Namor doesn’t care and takes her back to Atlantis, where scientists begin the process of enabling her to live underwater. Luther arrives and frees her.

SYNOPSIS:

Also, he used an ice gun; the ice bullets would melt, leaving no evidence. He got caught anyway.

SYNOPSIS:
The Human Torch tells Chief Wilson he’s going after J.B., whoever it is. Wilson says if he does he’ll get him reinstated on the police force. The Torch fin out J.B. is a woman (gasp!) and everything works out just great.
2nd Story:

SYNOPSIS:
Princess Fen chides Namor for letting the Americans escape, convincing him the woman wold have made a good mate. Namor tracks them down, finding they’ve been picked up by a Nazi sub. He captured Lynne, who explains they were taking them back to civilization. Namor doesn’t care and takes her back to Atlantis, where scientists begin the process of enabling her to live underwater. Luther arrives and frees her.

Terry Vance and his reporter friend stumble across a murder at a rich people dinner party in a spooky house. The secretary and the gardener were trying to steal corporate secrets, but the secretary killed the gardener to cover his tracks. Also, he used an ice gun; the ice bullets would melt, leaving no evidence. He got caught anyway.
