TOUGH KID SQUAD COMICS #1 (March 1942)
By a whole mess of folks, apparently

APPEARANCES:
Dr. Danger, Mrs. Danger (Wally & Tom’s parents, also in fb), Wally Danger, Tom Danger (twin brothers), Prof. Moxxon (Wally’s adoptive guardian), Wong Chee (master criminal, Tom’s abductor), Derrick Dawes (school bully turned Danger twins’ friend), Butch (Danger twins’ friend), Eagle (Danger twins’ friend), Dr. Klutch (evil scientist, also in fb) & his men (Komba named), mobsters, police, bystanders

FLASHBACK:
Fourteen years ago, Dr. Danger and Dr. Klutch work on a serum that improves an animal to peak performance (sound familiar?). When Danger refuses to let Klutch do bad things with the serum, Klutch arranges for Danger’s death. He learns the serum was injected in Danger’s kids and they’re the only remaining samples.
SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Danger and his wife are caught in a gang fight crossfire and are killed. Danger’s fried Prof. Moxxon adopts Wally but Tom is abducted by Wong Chee. Moxxon wants to raise Wally to be super smart and Wong Chee wants to raise Tom to be a great criminal. On his fourteenth birthday, Tom runs away, accidentally finds Wally’s house (hoping to rob the place) and finds a birthday party; he’s mistaken for Wally and he eventually moves in. Two to star going to a private school, make some friends and join the football team. They name themselves the “Tough Kid Squad.” After the big game, Dr. Klutch abducts the Squad. They eventually escape, but are terrorized by a crazy person in the woods. Dr. Klutch gets them back. Dr. Klutch examines the Danger twins and confirms they have the serum in their systems. The rest of the Squad break free and free the twins. Klutch tests his serum sample on his servant Komba; it works, but now that he’s smarter Komba rebels against Klutch. Klutch uses the serum on himself. Enhanced, Klutch wants to take over several crime gangs and make himself the boss. The Tough Kid Squad tricks the police into listening to them; meanwhile, the Danger twins defeat Klutch. Klutch is eventually arrested.
