Squadron Sinister #1-4

Post by Col_Fury »

SQUADRON SINISTER #1 (August 2015)
By Marc Guggenheim & Carlos Pacheco

APPEARANCES:
Utopolis Domain (EARTH-21195): Squadron Sinister: Doctor Spectrum (Kenji Obatu), “King” Hyperion (Mark Milton, Baron of Utopolis), Nighthawk (Kyle Richmond), Whizzer (Jim Sanders), Warrior Woman (Zarda); bystanders
Supremia Province (EARTH-17021): Squadron Supreme: Amphibian, Doctor Spectrum (Joseph Ledger), Hyperion (Mark Milton), Nighthawk (Kyle Richmond), Nuke (Albert Gaines), Power Princess (Zarda); bystanders
Nutopia Province (EARTH-14227): Merc (Mark Hazzard), Spitfire (Dr. Jenny Swenson), Starbrand (Ken Connell), Jack Magniconte (of Kickers, Inc.)
Shadow Province (EARTH-88194): Doctor Zero, St. George knights, Shadow Dwellers
Iron Thor

SYNOPSIS:
The Squadron Sinister of Utopolis annexes Supremia Province and kills that region’s Squadron Supreme. Nighthawk leaves his analogue alive as a regent. After the Squadron Sinister leave, heroes of Nutopia Province decide they’re going to be annexed soon and need to do something about it. Later, the Squadron Sinister discuss annexing the nearby Shadow Province; Nighthawk thinks they’re working on a weapon that can harm Hyperion. They’re interrupted by Iron Thor who warns Hyperion against too much annexing, then begins an inspection of Utopolis. Meanwhile, Nighthawk inspects the Supremia Doctor Spectrum’s power prism. Later, as Hyperion and Warrior Woman get frisky, they find Iron Tor’s corps in Hyperion’s bedroom. They decide to annex Shadow Province before the other Thors realize this one is missing. Afterward, Nighthawk gives the weapon to Hyperion, but Hyperion still doesn’t trust Nighthawk and tells Whizzer to keep spying on him. Elsewhere, Nighthawk realizes Hyperion still doesn’t trust him. Meanwhile, Warrior Woman conspires with Nutopia.

NOTE:
The Utopolis Squadron Sinister resembles the classic bad version of the Squadron Supreme, the Supremia Squadron Supreme resembles the Supreme Power version, the Nutopia characters are alternate version of the New Universe characters and Doctor Zero seems to be the “actual” Doctor Zero from Shadowline Saga.

In the Squadron Sinister’s trophy room, they have Batman’s utility belt, Green Arrow’s bow & quiver, Doctor Fate’s cloak, Aquaman’s trident, Hawkman’s helmet, Wonder Woman’s lasso & bracelets, Green Lantern’s power battery, some Kryptonite, a Mother Box and Psycho-Pirate’s weird mask thing.

Obviously, this Domain is aware of other Domains.

SQUADRON SINISTER #2 (September 2015)
By Marc Guggenheim & Carlos Pacheco

APPEARANCES:
Utopolis Domain (EARTH-21195): Squadron Sinister: Doctor Spectrum, Hyperion, Nighthawk, Whizzer, Warrior Woman; Turk (bts), bystanders
Wittland Province (EARTH-66232): Frightful Four: Paste Pot Pete (Peter Petruski), Sandman (Bill Baker), Titania, Wizard
Nutopia Province (EARTH-14227): Merc, Spitfire, Starbrand, Jack Magniconte; bystanders
Europix Province (EARTH-59124): Sgt. Fury & his Howling Commandos; Combat Kelly & the Deadly Dozen; Capt. Savage & his Leatherneck Raiders
Bar Sinister Domain (Earth-21919): Mr. Sinister (“Baron” Sinister)

SYNOPSIS:
Nighthawk invites Whizzer to join him in a coup against Hyperion. Meanwhile, Hyperion chats with Mr. Sinister in the Bar Sinister Domain about his dead Thor problem. Later, the Squadron Sinister warns the Frightful Four not to annex Europix. Soon after, Nighthawk spies on Warrior Woman as she meets with the Nutopians. Later, The Frightful Four attack Europix. Meanwhile, Nighthawk wonders if Doctor Zero killed Iron Thor, but he’s interrupted with news of Europix. Titania and Wizard are killed, Sandman is defeated and Paste Pot Pete is captured; Europix is annexed by Utopolis. When the Squadron Sinster return home they find their headquarters vandalized and Doctor Zero’s weapon stolen. Nighthawk begins to torture Paste Pot Pete not because he wants to find out who stole the weapon (he already knows), but because he likes to torture people. Later, Nighthawk confronts Warrior Woman about her treachery.

NOTE:
Europix is basically a world where WWII is still going on. When Sgt. Fury, Capt. Savage and Combat Kelly are all killed, Jay Little Bear is named regent.

Wittland is obviously a Frightful Four-led place.

SQUADRON SINISTER #3 (November 2015)
By Marc Guggenheim & Carlos Pacheco

APPEARANCES:
Utopolis Domain (EARTH-21195): Squadron Sinister: Doctor Spectrum, Hyperion, Nighthawk, Whizzer, Warrior Woman
Wittland Province (EARTH-66232): Frightful Four: Paste Pot Pete, Sandman
Nutopia Province (EARTH-14227): Merc, Spitfire, Starbrand, Starbrand II (Jacob Burnsley), Jack Magniconte; bystanders
Lost Land Province (EARTH-12212): First Line: Black Fox, Nightingale, Yankee Clipper

SYNOPSIS:
Sandman gives the weapon to Nighthawk. Later, Paste Pot Pete tells Hyperion that Whizzer stole the weapon, so Hyperion kills Whizzer and Nighthawk kills Pete. Later, Nighthawk shows Doctor Spectrum that Nutopia has amassed an army of Starbrands, and that Warrior Woman is working with them. He tells Doctor Spectrum that Warrior woman killed Iron Thor and is going to pin it on Doctor Spectrum. Nighthawk points out that he can never hide as long as he still has his power prism. Hyperion stops an attack from the Lost Land Province, then chats with Warrior Woman. They’re interrupted when the Nutopians attack Utopolis. Some of the Nutopians are killed and some retreat. Afterward, Warrior Woman tells Hyperion it was Doctor Spectrum that killed Iron Thor, but Doctor Spectrum is missing. Later, Nighthawk tells Warrior Woman to leave Utopolis or he’ll tell Hyperion of her treachery while he secretly plans to attack Hyperion with Doctor Spectrum’s power prism.

NOTE:
Remember Marvel: the Lost Generation?

SQUADRON SINISTER #4 (January 2016)
By Marc Guggenheim & Carlos Pacheco

APPEARANCES:
Utopolis Domain (EARTH-21195): Squadron Sinister: Hyperion, Nighthawk (also in fb), Warrior Woman; bystanders
Wittland Province (EARTH-66232): Frightful Four: Sandman (William Baker, “Flint Marko”)
Nutopia Province (EARTH-14227): Starbrand II (Jacob Burnsley)
Thors: Beta Ray Bill, Frog Thor, Destroyer Thor, Groot Thor, Thunderstrike, Thor (Storm), others, Iron Thor (in fb)
Doctor Doom (EARTH-616)
Valeria von Doom (EARTH-15513)
Shield (actually the Thing of EARTH-15513)
Ultrons (EARTH-21261)
Doctor Spectrum (EARTH-17021)’s severed hand (in fb)

FLASHBACK:
Nighthawk kills Iron Thor using the Supremia Doctor Spectrum’s power prism.
SYNOPSIS:
Using the weapon to weaken Hyperion, Nighthawk then uses the power prism to kill Hyperion. The Nutopians attack and Nighthawk warns them to leave, but they’re interrupted when the Thors arrive and take Nighthawk to Doomstadt. Doctor Doom finds Nighthawk guilty of discord, thanks to Warrior Woman’s testimony (who was secretly working for Doom the whole time). Nighthawk is sent past the Shield as punishment. The Nutopians try to take over Utopolis, but the citizens kick them out, angry that the Squadron Sinister is no longer in charge.

NOTE:
Don’t forget, the Shield is actually an alternate reality Thing. Any time it appears, it’s actually his foot or arm or something.

Hyperion appears in SECWARS 2, and dies here. So, this is at least after SECWARS 2. The map we put together has it between SECWARS 2-3, and before SIEGE2 1 (for Thing).

As we go through more of these Secret Wars minis, we’ll hopefully figure out where each of these Thors are from (for the most part, each Domain has a Thor; Doomstadt MIGHT have more than one). I have it in my head for some reason that Iron Thor is either the Thor of Technopolis (from Armor Wars), or the replacement Thor of Technopolis (I might be wrong about that, because I haven’t checked yet). However, I also have this idea that this is the Thor of Utopolis (because each Domain has at least one Thor, in theory), but it doesn’t read like this guy if from Utopolis. I guess we’ll find out!

Chronologies! (again, I’m skipping the Thors for now)

Re: Squadron Sinister #1-4

Post by vanhornluke »

Interesting that all those DC character items appear. I wonder if maybe Battleworld had included an alternate version of Earth-7642 (Earth-Crossover) or one of the other Earths that also contained DC characters (e.g., Not Brand Ecch, or Pow! Biff! Pops!) and the Squadron killed them and kept their items as souvenirs.
