Post by Col_Fury »

DEADPOOLvs.X-FORCE #1 (September 2014)
By Duane Swierczynski & Pepe Larraz

APPEARANCES:
Deadpool (also in fb), Charles Cornwallis (real person!), Cable, Dr. Francis Talbot, Boom Boom, Cannonball, Copycat (as Domino), Warpath, Talbot’s guards, Revolutionary War soldiers, Civil War soldiers

FLASHBACK:
Deadpool’s on a mission in a jungle (dated “14/05/1987,” so around comics from 1987).
SYNOPSIS:
Deadpool arrives in the American Revolution (Germanton Pennsylvania, October 1777) and kills a bunch of Brits. Cable senses a disturbance in the time stream, so he visits Dr. Francis Talbot, who invented a time machine. He says Deadpool stole his time machine, so Cable borrows another one, gathers an “X-Force” for the mission and goes to find Deadpool. They find him in the past, but he escapes. They spli up and some follow him, but when they find him he’s already allied himself with Confederate soldiers (Gettysburg Pennsylvania, July 1863).

NOTE:
An intro caption acknowledges that Cable’s team isn’t called “X-Force” yet (this is circa NM 98), but they WILL be called “X-Force” soon.

DEADPOOLvs.X-FORCE #2 (September 2014)
By Duane Swierczynski & Pepe Larraz

APPEARANCES:
Deadpool (also op in fb), Cable, Copycat (as Domino), Warpath, Boom Boom, Cannonball, Dr. Francis Talbot (in fb), Revolutionary War soldiers, Civil War soldiers

FLASHBACK:
Talbot warns Deadpool that the X-Men may interfere in his mission (Talbot said last issue that Deadpool stole his time travel device, not that he sent Deadpool on a mission. Was Talbot… LYING? *gasp!* Yes, it turns out he was).
SYNOPSIS:
Cable and his “X-Force” fight Deadpool and the Confederates. A time wave ripples through Gettysburg and the time travelers find themselves in an alternate reality where the Americans won the battle of Germantown and have developed technology earlier than they should have. Now, the Union has an advantage they shouldn’t, resulting in a new timeline. Cable travels back to 1777 and tells Cannonball and Boom Boom to make sure the British defeat the rebels (you know, the way it really happened). Cable returns to 1863 and tells Domino and Warpath to keep the Union from fighting the Confederacy. Then, Cable attacks Deadpool; during their fight they travel through time again (Hebei Province China, 1900) where Deadpool puts a control collar on Cable.

DEADPOOLvs.X-FORCE #3 (October 2014)
By Duane Swierczynski & Pepe Larraz

APPEARANCES:
Deadpool, Cable, Boom Boom, Cannonball, Copycat (as Domino), Warpath, Empress Dowager Cixi (real person!), Adolf Hitler (real person!), Dr. Francis Talbot (bts), Revolutionary War soldiers, Civil War soldiers, Boxer Rebellion soldiers

SYNOPSIS:
Deadpool explains he was sent into the past to make sure the American Revolution ended early so America would be a dominant force in the world. Then, he had to make sure the Confederacy won the Civil War so they would have access to the Union’s superior technology. Then, America would embark on creating its own empire, starting with China and the Empress of Peking. Cable destroys his control collar and shoots Deadpool into a pile of meat, then returns to 1863 to tell Domino and Warpath he can fix things, but they have to hold on for a bit. Meanwhile in 1777, Boom Boom has been shot. Deadpool heals then slaps around the Chinese Empress; he retrieves a spare time travel device. Later, Deadpool arrives in Germany (November 1923) and tells drunk Hitler “Come with me if you want to live.”

DEADPOOLvs.X-FORCE #4 (November 2014)
By Duane Swierczynski & Pepe Larraz (with Rob Liefeld!)

APPEARANCES:
Deadpool, Adolf Hitler, a time-traveler (and his potential parents), Cable, Boom Boom, Cannonball, Copycat (as Domino), Warpath, US President Charles Lindbergh (real person!, bts), Dr. Francis Talbot, Adolf Hitler, Revolutionary War soldiers, Civil War soldiers, Panzer-Sentinels, future bystanders

SYNOPSIS:
Deadpool reveals he’s supposed to keep Hitler alive until the 1960s. A time-traveler appears to kill Hitler, so Deadpool uses his time gun to erase the traveler’s existence. In 1777, Cable destroys some of the rebels’ cannons to they lose the Battle of Germantown. He (and Cannonball and Boom Boom) travel to 1863 and see that time has corrected itself. They all travel back to the present to find that America has been taken over by the Nazis. Talbot reveals an alternate him hired Deadpool for the first mission, but he hired Deadpool do a second mission to keep Hitler alive, resulting in this new timeline. Deadpool is contacted (he’s acted as Hitler’s bodyguard against time-traveleers for 21 years; it’s now 1944 for him), so he returns to the present and fights Cable and the gang. Deadpool accidentally shoots Talbot with his time gun, erasing this version of Talbot from history. As Deadpool, Cable and the gang shift back to their own timeline, they begin to forget about their recent adventure. In 1923, Hitler wakes up with a hangover. In the present, Deadpool attacks Cable in the library!

NOTE:
The Revolutionary War stuff caused the EARTH-42466 timeline, but this only affects characters seen during the Civil War and the Boxer Revolution periods. Cable averted EARTH-42466 by doing things after Deadpool’s arrival in 1777, so all the Revolutionary War scenes happened on EARTH-616.

The 1923/1944/1991 stuff happens on EARTH-14114, but was averted when Deadpool accidentally shot Talbot. EARTH-616 Hitler appears at the end of issue #4.

Issue #4’s last page art is from NM 98 (half of page 13 & half of page 14), but with new/different dialogue. Cable’s appearance in issue #1 is also in the library, so this whole mini happens during NM 98 for Cable (and Boom Boom & Cannonball). There seems to only be six minutes between pages 12-13 in NM 98 (it’s December 5, 2:45PM on page 12 through page 13, panel 2, and it’s 2:51PM on page 13, panel 3), but who’s to say it’s still the same day? Also, you could argue that Cable senses a disturbance in time in the library at 2:51PM in DPV.XFOR 1, and things go on a different track; then when everyone’s returned to their proper time in DPV.XFOR 4, it’s right back at 2:51PM. Whatever works, and because no one remembers it, it doesn’t REALLY matter anyway.

Rictor doesn’t appear in this mini, so this has to happen after he runs away in NM 98 (on page 13, panel 2 at 2:45PM!).

Speaking of not remembering things, since Deadpool no longer remembers he was hired by Talbot here, that means he was still hired by “Mr. Tolliver” in NM 98. Yay!

Domino arrives after a (unseen) phone call from Cable in NM 98, so we can assume the same thing happened in the first issue here. I suppose it’s something similar for Warpath. *waves hand in the air*

HOWEVER, that’s actually Copycat disguised as Domino in NM 98 (we don’t find that out until XFOR 11), and Domino didn’t know that Copycat was posing as her until XFOR 11. So, it has to be Copycat here. Luckily, even though they talk about her probability powers here, she doesn’t seem to actually use them.
