Character Watch Rules

Post by Russ Chappell »

We're redesigning the Character Watches.

1. We're opening them up. All books, all characters are acceptable.

2. The posts here should now be book- & issue-centric, rather than character-centric.

What that means:

The subject of each thread should consist of a title and an issue.

The body should be a list of characters who appear in the issue. In addition, you can use this thread to discuss the identification of characters. Please limit this forum to the discussion of "character appearances" in a particular issue.

We only need one thread for each issue.

Here are a couple of examples:

EXAMPLE #1:
Subject: H3 108

Body:
ANGEL
AMADEUS CHO
TOM FOSTER
HERCULES
HULK
RICK JONES
MIEK
MUNG
NAMORA

Reply:
Who appears in pages 1-10 of H3 108?

Reply:
1-10
ANGEL
AMADEUS CHO
TOM FOSTER
HULK
RICK JONES
NAMORA

11-25
HULK
RICK JONES
MIEK
MUNG

EXAMPLE #2:
Subject: DEF6 22

Body: Who is that guy that's in page 5, panel 3? It looks like Ben Parker, but he's dead, right?

Reply:
I think it's supposed to be Justice's grandfather.

We realize that an attempt to identify a character can evolve into a chronological discussion ("That can't be Doctor Doom, because he's supposed to be trapped in Asgard. The appearance of an adult Katie Power requires that this story takes place after T 712, and Peter still has six arms, so it must take place before CA 819, and Doom is in Asgard that entire time. Must be someone else"), but when that happens, we'll bump the thread out, to the main forum.

Thank you for your time.

Russ do we have to use the abbreviation from the key in the subject line?

No. I could have used "World War Hulk #2" as my subject. Or whatever, as long as it communicates.
